We have expertise in all aspects of employment law, contentious and non-contentious including discrimination, dismissal, breach of contract, pay and benefits and equal pay. We regularly support large projects and PFIs by advising on the implications of commercial transactions such as contracting out and PPI/PFI.

Work experience/case studies:

  • Advising North Devon District Council on numerous outsourcing projects with similar TUPE issues including Leisure Centre Management Contract, Outsourcing of Lifeguard Service, Outsourcing of Dog Warden services and general TUPE issues. Also advising the Council in relation to their in-house engineering function.
  • Similarly advising South Gloucestershire District Council and also Borough of Poole on their obligations under TUPE, including specific advice on consulting with the affected workforces and two tier workforce issues in connection with their respective projects for outsourcing of Leisure Services.
  • Advising the Ministry of Defence on the TUPE issues involved in a major PFI project. Work has included conducting negotiations with each of the bidders and assisting the Human Resources team with the evaluation of the bidders' responses.
