The Construction team (led by Huw Morgan who has 14 years experience of dispute resolution in construction and has acted upon a number of high profile reported cases) is made up of six lawyers.
They specialise in construction-related matters and have experience of dealing with all standard construction forms including newer collaborative models such as EEC (including amending options for use as term contracts) and PPC for both private and public sectors.
The team has experience of each forum for modern dispute resolution, Adjudication, Arbitration, Litigation in the Technology and Construction Court and Mediation. The team includes qualified arbitrators, adjudicators and mediators.
Work experience/case studies:
- Advising the contractor in relation to the West Sussex Residential PPP scheme including review and negotiation of project agreement and all construction related issues including Contractor/ Operator responsibility and collateral warranties.
- Advising Airbus UK Limited in respect of a major construction project – value £95 million including advice and assistance in the drafting, negotiation and agreement of a guaranteed maximum price contract for the design and construction of a new Aerostructure Assembly and Manufacturing Centre at Broughton, Chester, commissioned for the production of components for aircraft programmes carried out for various aircraft manufacturers by Airbus UK Ltd including some substantial new projects.
- Acting for Quintain plc in respect of the development of its student accommodation portfolio including advising and drafting development agreements, construction contracts, collateral warranties and advising on service management issues and agreements.
