We have a great deal of experience of dealing with claims for workplace illness. These include asbestos-related illnesses, industrial deafness, hand/arm vibration syndrome (also known as vibration white finger), respiratory illnesses such as asthma, work related upper limb disorders, cumulative back injuries and stress cases. We work closely with medical experts to achieve the best possible results for you.
- We acted for numerous dock workers who were exposed to excessive levels of noise at work and who suffered hearing loss as a result. Their compensation ranged from £5,000 - £12,000.
- We acted for a woman who was required to help out in a different section of the factory. She found this difficult and fiddly and was not given adequate breaks or rotation of jobs. She developed a condition called tenosynovitis, which was complicated by chronic regional pain syndrome. She is unlikely to be able to return to work. She received £100,000 in compensation and in addition her income is protected under her company's permanent health insurance scheme.
- We won £165,000 for a widow of a man who suffered from mesothelioma, a fatal disease caused by asbestos. This disease develops a long period of time after the asbestos exposure. When the disease becomes known to the victim it develops very quickly and is painful and debilitating. Although our client had retired by the time the disease developed, we were able to locate his former employer and prove that they were responsible for the illness, meaning we could recover compensation for his widow.
