We have considerable experience of outsourcing for local government. Since acting on behalf of a City Council in the first of the major externalisations of a direct labour force by way of trade sale to a contracting, waste and cleaning services provider, we have continued to develop our expertise in both commissioning and outsourcing on behalf of central and local government. Our expertise includes the commissioning of large and small IT.
Work experience/case studies:
- Acting for a County Council and two Unitary Authorities on the outsourcing of their employment training and placement services for disabled persons and disabled persons' workshops to a local authority controlled company established by the three authorities including advice on procurement issues and the application of the "Teckal" test and drafting of all relevant outsourcing contract documentation and forming the company.
- Acting for a District Council in Devon on numerous outsourcing contracts including in relation to leisure services, grounds maintenance, lifeguard services, dog warden services, public toilet management services and similar.
- Appointed to advise and assist a City Council and a consortium of sub-regional Authorities in an IT software procurement for housing services
