Our support for mid-range enterprises is well known. If you are a mid range enterprise, you may be interested in a report commissioned by Veale Wasbrough and written by Dr Andy Danford and Dr Mike Richardson of the Bristol Business School, University of the West of England (UWE).
The report is on workplace consultation processes and the forthcoming Information & Consultation Directive. This directive is reported to be the biggest change in employment law for a generation. One year from now, all organisations with over 150 employees are affected, and three years after that, it will affect all those with over 50 employees.
This report looks at the whole range of existing consultation procedures, from informal briefings to full blown works councils. It discusses the way in which these currently work, how they are regarded, and how organisations are looking ahead. The findings are very significant.
