Purchasing and outsourcing

We have considerable experience of advising on purchasing contracts whether they take the form of standard terms and conditions of purchase or large scale, long term outsourcing agreements.

Contracts for the supply of essential raw materials are of critical importance yet often these are neglected. Companies sometimes rely on buying power to solve supply problems when these occur. Unfortunately, if you are the weak link in the supply chain this strategy does not always work. Purchase contracts are as essential as sales contracts. We can write your contracts in plain English so that key concerns like quality, punctuality and price are addressed.

We have considerable experience of advising on outsourcing arrangements both in the private sector and in the public sector. Outsourcing in the private sector means that a business uses experienced third party suppliers to provide functions like IT support, payroll, billing, cleaning or mailroom services that would normally be provided in-house. The idea is to achieve levels of expertise and cost which cannot be matched in-house.

Outsourcing raises a variety of legal and commercial issues.  We are familiar with those issues and can advise you whether you are the service buyer or the service provider.
