Trading funds

We have considerable experience in acting for and advising Trading Funds and pride ourselves on being able to work in partnership with our clients to deliver their objectives in a simple and straightforward way. Our experience of acting for Trading Funds over many years has equipped us with a thorough understanding of the sector and the restraints it faces.

We have advised Trading Funds and executive agencies on business development including establishing companies and entering into joint ventures, international joint venture work, commercial contracts operating both in the United Kingdom and overseas and contract disputes.

We have also undertaken property law work for Trading Funds in connection with the development of Government estate and worked on substanstial IT contracts.


Work experience/case studies:

  • Providing a trading fund with UK and EC competition law and general commercial advice in connection with the alteration to the method of calculating and charging royalty payments on sales production worldwide.
  • Advising a trading fund on partnering and joint working for the collaborative accommodation and training of recruits at the site of the trading fund with strategic commercial partners, both using formal SPV structures and contractual mechanisms.
  • Advising the Met Office on its partnering arrangements with the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and the Natural Environment Research Council in connection with the development and procurement of high performance computer projects.
