Trainee responses...
- Olivier Burnside - Cross Border
Trainees work closely with a senior fee earner (usually at Partner or Associate level). I have found there to be a strong culture of support within the firm which means that when your supervisor is away, plenty of colleagues are happy to help and advise. - Emma-Jane Burnell - Schools
All trainees have a supervisor while in each seat and this is the primary source of supervision, support and feedback. Trainees will also undertake work for other fee-earners in each team who will provide feedback where necessary. - Nick Martindale - Commercial
My supervisor is always sat next to me (or at least within file throwing distance) and they are able to offer support whenever you need it. The open plan office means you can ask anybody in the team if you have a problem and the young solicitors are always willing to help out because they were in your position not too long ago. - Jon Napier
I sit opposite my supervisor and she will always guide and provide useful insights when you ask for it. The rest of my team are also willing to help whenever you ask and within a month or two of being in a seat you usually find they ask you for your thoughts on a matter just as you do to them. The library team make sure you are kept up to date on the law and my secretary also keeps me on the right path.
