During our first year of training, we took part in the Young Enterprise Scheme. This involved spending an hour a week with a local school and advising them in relation to legal and commercial issues. It was a good opportunity to practice giving advice and an enjoyable experience too. - Emma-Jane Burnell - Schools
I have been involved in the Young Enterprise Scheme as a business advisor for a local school. This was very useful and a valuable lesson in leadership and explaining things in a simple and understandable way. - Nick Martindale - Commercial
I’ve taken part in the Young Enterprise Scheme where we would attend a weekly meeting at a chosen school. The idea is for a group of sixth formers to set up and run a small company for 6 months and we are able to offer general advice and guidance on the setting up and running of the business. - Jon Napier
All first year trainees work with the Young Enterprise project. Every week we attend a local school and help guide and advise sixth formers who are running a small business for the year. It's great to give something back to your local community and it is useful experience to be advising and teaching school children about business and law.
