Bristol is a fantastic City which offers easy access to Devon, Cornwall and Wales for leisure activities at the weekends. It is a wonderful place to bring up a young family with many museums, cinemas, organised sports events and parks. It has all the facilities of a big City but is un-intimidating and small enough to access all of the facilities easily. - Doug Locke, Partner - Intellectual Property & Technology
Lots. Sometimes I wish I lived there, but after moving from London I am happy to live in the country. - Sue Nokes, Partner - Commercial
I'm about to move back into the centre after 15 years away, so I'll soon find out. I'm looking forward to the theatre and the cinema as well as catching up with lots of old friends. - Jason Prosser, Partner - Construction
Bristol is a vibrant city with plenty of things to do during the week and at the weekend, with good countryside nearby and excellent access to road and rail networks. - Nathan Guest, Partner - Corporate
I am a native Bristolian and therefore heavily biased! Personally, I think that Bristol is a fantastic place to work and offers genuine work/life balance. There has been a noticeable increase in the quality of legal work being carried around the City, particularly on the corporate front. Bristol is increasingly attracting deals and other legal work that would have traditionally been carried out in the City. However, I also work sensible hours and I am able to enjoy a life outside of the office. One of the real attractions is its location On the "work" front, Bristol is less than 2 hours from business centres such as London and Birmingham but on the "life" front it is a similar distance from Devon, Cornwall and Pembrokeshire.
