Corporate Lawyer

Overall objectives

  • To support Plc corporate partner in the development and growth of the plc practice.
  • Add critical mass and additional support to Plc corporate partner.
  • To assist with general corporate work as well.

Required skills, knowledge and experience

Qualified solicitor wishing (and preferably with appropriate experience) to specialise in all aspects of corporate plc advise including equity capital markets work (for example IPOs, and takeovers) as well as general corporate finance work.

Training should be with a city or recognised regional firm with an equity capital markets practice.

Should be personable and able to manage their own matters (under supervision) with a desire to be involved in marketing. This may require someone with circa 2 years PQE.

Following skills also required:

  • advocate and present orally when required
  • conduct effective case and transaction management
  • develop strong client relationships
  • communicate concisely both verbally and in writing with colleagues and clients
  • draft documents that are clear and concise
  • interview and advise clients, helping them decide the best course of action
  • research the relevant legal issues applicable to a case
  • conduct negotiations where appropriate
