- To support our property lawyers with the construction law aspects of commercial property development. Advising upon the forms of building contract, professional appointments and collateral warranties.
Required skills
The ability to:
- present orally when required
- conduct effective case and transaction management
- develop strong client relationships
- communicate concisely both verbally and in writing with colleagues and clients
- draft documents that are clear and concise
- interview and advise clients, helping them decide the best course of action
- research the relevant legal issues applicable to a case
- conduct negotiations where appropriate
Required knowledge and experience
- Admitted Solicitor with current Practising Certificate and a developing expertise in construction law. Must demonstrate an ability to work to the Law Society’s Skill Standards and to provide accurate, focussed advice to clients.
- 1 -2 years' experience of non-contentious and contentious construction law.
- An understanding of the Standard Forms of Building and Engineering Contract, Professional Appointments and Collateral Warranties.
- Familiarity with and confidence in the use of office IT applications; good typing skills.
