Veale Wasbrough launches online seminars for Hotels

Veale Wasbrough Lawyers has announced the launch of an innovative online seminar series designed to enable hoteliers to keep up-to-date with legal developments affecting the hotel industry.

New web technology will enable hoteliers to watch and listen to live online seminars delivered by members of the specialist Hotels team. Each seminar will be followed by a Q&A session during which participants will be able to submit questions to the presenter for discussion.

The first online seminar, on 3 May, will be on the subject of the smoking ban and the steps hoteliers need to take to prepare for it. This will be followed by a seminar in June on the rules for employing overseas workers in the hospitality industry and an employment law update seminar in July.

Marcus Rowland, head of Veale Wasbrough's Hotels team said,

“Running a hotel business is tough enough even without having to get to grips with the constant supply of new legislation.  A lot of our clients tell us that they want to know about the legal developments that affect them but they just don't have the time to go on training courses. The good thing about online seminars is that you don't have to waste any time travelling because you can listen in from your own desk. We use them to train our own lawyers and we find them a really effective way of keeping up-to-date."

Jonathan Woodmansey, UK legal adviser at Queens Moat Houses UK Limited commented,

"This sounds like an ideal way for me to keep up-to-date without spending hours out of the office. The smoking ban and how it will affect our operation is a particularly hot topic with the QMH executive team although all the seminar subjects seem entirely relevant to this year's compliance issues".

The seminars are open to all hoteliers and can be booked online on the Events page.
